The first time Zach Goodman addressed the Camas City Council about firefighter safety was in March 2018, just a few weeks after a two-person Camas-Washougal firefighter crew had pulled a man and his dogs from a burning house.
The Camas-Washougal winter holiday season kicks off this week with two of the biggest events — the Washougal Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting and Camas’ Hometown Holidays celebration — taking place today and tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5-6, respectively.
Since taking over as Washougal School District’s (WSD) superintendent in July 2018, Mary Templeton has strongly advocated for the addition of a string music program. Templeton is a trained singer, her sister was a member of the Portland Youth Philharmonic and all three of her children are violin players with orchestra experience, so she believes that she’s able to speak to the performing arts’ ability to enrich peoples’ lives.
