Vandals on e-bikes damaged fairways, greens and bunkers at Camas Meadows Golf Club overnight Saturday, according to a post on the club’s Facebook page.

The golf club reported the damage to the Camas Police Department about 10 a.m. Sunday. Police are investigating, administrative Sgt. Chuck Nadgwick said.

Eight out of 18 holes were damaged by two or three bikers, Nadgwick said.

“They damaged the fairways, but spent a lot of time in the bunkers, which are sandpits,” Nadgwick said.

Camas police determined, based on the size and shape of the ruts, that the damage was caused by e-bikes.

The club is open and temporary greens have been created for the seventh and eighth holes. Golfers will get a $10 discount (normally $60-$70 on weekdays) until the damage can be repaired.

Nadgwick said the police report did not contain an estimate for the cost of repairs, though it is “definitely over $1,200.”

The golf club has asked people who live near the course to get in touch with any information about who might have caused the damage, including security footage.

Nadgwick said anyone with tips or footage should contact the Camas Police Department at 360-834-4151 and ask to speak to the duty sergeant.

The club’s Facebook post did not say when golfers could expect repairs to be completed.

The club’s managers did not respond to The Columbian’s requests for comment by the time of publication.
