Kiddie Academy of Camas broke ground Sept. 24 on a new childcare center that will provide space for up to 154 children and employ an estimated 25 to 30 people.
The approximately 11,000-square-foot facility at 4320 N.W. 20th Ave. is expected to serve children from 6 weeks through 12 years old, according to the company. Camas Mayor Steve Hogan participated in the groundbreaking ceremony.
The facility will include four playgrounds as well as soccer and basketball courts. It is designed to provide full-time childcare and educational programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners and school-age children.
Camas seeks zombies for inaugural Zombie Dash
Camas Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteers to serve as zombies during the city’s first Zombie Dash Fun Run on Oct. 17.
The free community event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Legacy Lands Rose Property, 215 S.E. Leadbetter Road. Participants will navigate a 1.25-mile obstacle course while trying to keep flags representing their survival. Volunteer zombies will chase runners and attempt to take their flags.
